Port Ellen Book Festival

Just a quick entry to link to the Port Ellen Book Festival on Islay, which has started today. Guests include writers Bernard MacLaverty (who lived on Islay for a while), Isla Dewar and Anne MacLeod. Also Gaelic storytelling by Iain MacPherson.

The festival continues on Sunday, among others with Joan Lingard and Christopher Rush. There is also a children's programme on both days, check the Port Ellen Book Festival website for details.

Best for books on Islay is C & E Roy's Celtic House in Bowmore.
