Coach Tours to Islay

Islay isn't really a place coach or bus tours visit, even less so is the Isle of Jura. The (expensive) two hour ferry crossing to Islay, the narrow roads (often single track, in the case of Jura only single track) and the lack of large hotels with enough capacity for a coach load of guests probably being the main reasons. As an individual traveller I'm quite happy with that, as it keeps mass tourism away from the Isle of Islay. On the other hand there might be other travellers for whom a coach might be the only viable option.

While searching for something else today I came over Classique Coaches, who also offer coach tours to Islay, Jura, Colonsay and Gigha. They are using "classic" coaches, you can see Kaaren at Bunnahabhain. Certainly with some of their older coaches you can travel in style. Their groups seem to be fairly small, probably the only way to find enough beds in one place on Islay. I can't say anything about the quality of their tours, but if individual travel and/or public transport isn't an option for you this might be a good way to visit Islay and Jura.
