From Islay to France

Some people move to Islay (try Scott and Bron's Life on Islay for an example), others decide to leave to find their dream somewhere else. That's what Paula and Graham Grant did in 2004 together with their children, when they moved from Islay to the Limousin area in France.

With Graham being a farmer and Paula a vet they stayed in a familiar area, farming. But they also diversified into tourism, offering Limousin Farm Holidays. You can read about life in limousin and their transition from Islay on their website, there's also a Limousin Farm Holidays Family Blog. But the main reason I'm blogging about it today is another:

The weekly BBC programme On Your Farm visited them recently, the programme was broadcast on Sunday 12/Oct/2008. I'm not sure if the programme is available outside of the UK, but until 6:59am Sunday 19th October the programme can be listened to on the BBC iPlayer: On Your Farm: Adam Henson visits the Grant family (at least in Germany it seems to work).
