Islay Blogging Roundup #56

Islay Blogging Roundup in stencil

Sunday evening after a rather changeable weekend. Sunshine, showers, sleet, snow, rain, drizzle, there was pretty much everything in the UK. But back to the task at hand, this weeks Islay blogging roundup. It seems to have been a comparably quiet week, but there were still a few mentions of Islay in the blogs:

Let me start with the pictures this week. Photogenic Scotland managed to get the Islay picture in before going away for a break, a view of Bowmore with the Round Church. Mirko continued his journey on Islay with a tour of Ardbeg distillery. There are views of the spirit safe and the stills to name a few.

A new French blog called Perfumum & Whisky (I guess that's Perfume & Whisky?) writes about Ardbeg reine d’Islay. As you need your nose for both, the combination seems to make sense.

Staying with Ardbeg, Tom of the ardblog is intrigued by an Ardbeg “Black Mystery”. Is it an official bottling or just some packaging by the store?

A Swedish blog is getting excited about an Islay whiskyprovning i Stockholm?, which I'm fairly sure is about an Islay whisky tasting in Stockholm.

The Bruichladdich Blog has a fairly quiet week, only providing an update for the Islay Barley. In the meantime The “Officially Unofficial” Bruichladdich Blog follows up on Three Recently Announced Bruichladdich Expressions and the Port Charlotte News.

No whisky news on Ron's Weblog, instead he introduces Lesley Lutomski and picks up on the cost of the Port Askaig redevelopment I also touched on yesterday. The weeks ‘seasonwatch’ by Teresa Morris wrote about Greenland Barnacle Goose, which nicely leads me to the birdwatching:

Back from their holiday Ian is back blogging at the Islay Birds blog. Not many images from their holiday as their cameras unfortunately were stolen, so Michal took pity on them and sent a nice picture of a coal tit. Later in the week lots of Whooper Swans were spotted and photographed.

The Islay Birder John Armitage went Geese counting and more Geese counting. Jeremy Hastings of Islay Birding News in the meantime spotted a Great Northern before having a Crazy day on Friday.

With that I close this week's Islay blogging roundup, but not before linking to the Scottish Roundup, this week with a double edition: First the non-political roundup and What you weren’t told about pregnancy, job hunting, travelling, gigs…, swiftly followed by the political roundup and The Week of the Fascist Fonebook (Phascist Phonebook?).

Good night!
