Friday Islay Picture #162 - Deer at Storakaig

Friday Islay Picture in stencil

Back from a long day out and about on my long weekend in Germany. Today we visited the Wildpark Silz where among others we saw some quite inquisitive deer. Those deer were very tame, having almost no fear of humans and actually coming up to them begging for food. Others were more shy and kept away from humans a bit more, reminding me more of the deer on Islay. Some come fairly close though on Islay (and Jura) and allow you to take nice pictures:

These are deer near Storakaig on a grey April afternoon a few years ago. They do get some supplement feeding, which was when I took this picture. They do come down to get the food, but otherwise still stay well away from humans.

As usual I will post a larger version of this picture on the Islay Pictures photoblog on Saturday morning. While the picture blog will be updated every morning while I'm in Germany this blog will most likely take a break now until at least Sunday. I expect to be out and about in Heidelberg until later in the evening tomorrow, probably not allowing me to update the blog. I'm sure you'll survive. Have a great weekend!
