Gone Geese Watching on Islay (and more)

This is the last entry here for a wee while. A week and a bit to be precise. At least at this blog. Simple reason that I'm off to Islay again for a week. As usual I won't be updating this blog while I'm on Islay, but you should still be able to follow my adventures on my Isle of Islay posterous account (mobile phone or WiFi signal permitting). So what are my plans for the week?

Of course I'm planning to do a bit of ‘Geese watching’, after all that's one of the reasons I go at this time of year. Even though this will be my fourth visit in October I'm still fascinated by the views and sounds they create. Time to dig out the video from last year:

Of course that's not the only thing I'm planning to do. Among other things I'm hoping to meet many old and new friends, visit a few of the distilleries, take a lot of pictures and videos, go on a walk or two, check out the latest progress at the Islay Hotel in Port Ellen, see how the new Morrison Square in Bowmore looks with my own eyes, hopefully finally take some good night sky pictures, enjoy a wee dram or two in front of the open fire in the cottage, have a meal at An Taigh - osda, probably get soaking wet from the rain at least once, enjoy one or two October sunsets, walk on at least two beaches and drink some Islay Ale.

And much more.

As I said, I'm hoping to update you on my Isle of Islay posterous account, there might also be a few more updates on my @islayblog Twitter account. Give it a try and see what happens. In just over a week normal service should return here as well.
