Scones with Clotted Cream and Islay Jam

Picture of a woman cutting a cake with a silhouette of Islay, a man watching on

On the ferry to Islay two weeks ago I picked up a copy of the Ileach where I spotted an interesting ad. It was for M A MacKinnons Marmalade at The Old Smithy, Islay House Square, Bridgend and read ‘Come along for an opening preview on Saturday 30th October 2010 From 2pm-5pm’. That was they day I was due to leave Islay and I had to be in Port Ellen for the ferry by 2:45pm latest. Still, this was an opportunity I couldn't miss, so a few minutes after 2pm I arrived for the opening of the MA MacKinnon shop in Islay House Square. Did some shopping:

During my weekend shopping this morning I bought some scones and clotted cream, this afternoon they were served with the jam bought on Islay a week ago:

Time to enjoy:

It was good as usual, after all MA MacKinnons Marmalade has been around for quite some time and I've bought some of it previously. But so far it was only available in other places and I sometimes had to search for it. Now it is available in a shop on Islay House Square (next to Islay Ales), so it should be much easier to get.

I'm not aware of any website for it at this point, if you find anything please let me (and others) know via the comments.
