Friday Islay Picture #173 - Moon over Gruinart and the Paps of Jura

Friday Islay Picture in stencil

After a rather stormy week calm has returned to Islay today. In line with that I thought I post a calm Friday Islay picture today. Taken not long after the Moonrise over Loch Gruinart picture it shows the Moon a bit higher in the sky from a bit higher above Gruinart, the Paps of Jura in the distance:

Picture of a moonlit landscape, looking along a road, distinctly shaped mountains in the distance on the right

This is from the B8017 between Loch Gorm and Loch Gruinart, if I remember right towards the west of the old schoolhouse. It doesn't fully express the amazing mood and light that evening, but I still hope you get at least an idea. There was still some very last light towards the west, I'll post a picture from that some other time.

I'll post the larger version (more than twice as big) on the Islay Pictures photoblog on Saturday morning as usual, may be it gives a slightly better impression how it was like. Until then, good night and have a great weekend, time for a wee dram of Laphroaig QC for me.
