New Islay Distillery Panorama - Laphroaig

Islay Whisky News & Links in stencil

You were expecting this, weren't you? Yes, after the Kilchoman distillery panorama two weeks ago and the Bowmore distillery panorama last weekend I have indeed another Islay Distillery Panorama for you. This time from the south coast of Islay, a view of Laphroaig distillery on a beautiful sunny October day in October 2009:

The preview above is of course far too small, for the real thing go to the Laphroaig distillery at Loch Laphroaig, Isle of Islay - 180° Quicktime VR Panorama. If you don't have Quicktime installed on your computer I'll post a larger version (more than twice as big as the preview above) on the Islay Pictures photoblog on Sunday morning.

At this point I'd like to also mention and thank Marcel van Gils aka the Laphroaig Collector again. My memory for which building is what isn't the greatest, so his excellent and fabulous Legend of Laphroaig book was very helpful to hopefully get the descriptions in the panorama right.

I hope you enjoy the panorama, I'm not sure yet if I can continue the series next weekend. I'll have to trawl through my picture archives to see what I can find. Ideally I'd like to add a panorama of Caol Ila, as that is the only distillery missing in the collection now, but I'm not sure if I've got the pictures of it for a panorama.
