Friday Islay Picture #210 - Walkers on Texa

Friday Islay Picture in stencil

Weekend again already? Three day working weeks are quite nice, I must admit. And a Friday evening with pizza, beer and ice cream. And a wee dram of Islay single malt whisky to finish, a Laphroaig Triple Wood to be precise. But enough of that, time for the Friday Islay (and Texa) picture:

Picture of a group of walkers on a small island, a larger island in the background

This was during the Islay walking week this year, the first excursion ever (of the walking week) to Texa. The trig point is near the eastern end of the island, we decided this was a good spot to take a group picture. In the background you can of course see Islay, towards the left you can make out Lagavulin distillery and if you look very closely you can just make out Ardbeg just left of centre of the picture.

Unfortunately it clouded over exactly for the two hours we were on Texa (it was sunny as we were leaving Lagavulin pier and sunny again not long after we returned…), but it was still a great experience to visit this island most of us had only seen from the ferry or from the shore before.

I'm not entirely sure, but there's a good chance this was the largest number of people on Texa at one time ever. I believe the picture captures almost all of them, the only exception being me, as I was behind the camera. As usual I will post a larger version on the Islay Pictures photoblog on Saturday morning, for those who would like to find themselves or check out who was there.

Have a great weekend, on Texa or elsewhere!
