Islay Pipe Band at British Championships 2013

Islay Music in stencil

With the Islay Festival / Feis Ile going on this week most of the attention is of course going to it. However, on Saturday the first big test of the year for the Islay Pipe Band took place in Bathgate, the British Pipe Band Championships. Here's the video from their performance:

The RSPBA website lists the results for the British Championships, scroll down to Grade 3A for the Islay Pipe Band. They came 8th out of 17 pipe bands in the grade. Reading the update on their Facebook page they put in a reasonable performance and were disappointed with 8th place. However, the focus is now on the next competition, the European Pipe Band Championships in Forres on 29/Jun. Fingers crossed and all the best!
