Friday Islay Picture #289 - Snipe on post

Well then, it's time for the Friday Islay picture, I think. And for some inexplicable reason I've picked one which has no relation to the current heatwave in most of the UK. Just because I can. And because most of you are probably bored of sunny hot pictures by now. So instead have a picture of a Snipe on a post at Gruinart:

This was at the RSPB Loch Gruinart reserve, in the old hide, in June 2013. When we first heard it we were looking in the grass, it took us a moment to realise that it was sitting on the old post not far away from the hide. It sat on the post for quite some time, allowing me take a few pictures. Later in the week I saw it again on the same post, followed by a Redshank after it flew off.
As usual I'll post a larger version of the picture on the Islay Pictures photoblog on Saturday morning. But for now all that's left is to wish you a great summer weekend.
