New Islay history project launched

Islay News in stencil

Earlier today Alice Hathaway launched an interesting new project around Islay's history. Of course it is still in the very early stages, but I thought I'll give it a mention straight away to do my tiny part to help getting it going. Here's where to find more and how to get in touch with Alice if you can help her:

The project is called ‘An Ileach Story - a multimedia history project’ and will focus on ‘the impact of the World Wars on the Islay communities and way of life.’ You can find more details and regular updates on the An Ileach Story Facebook page and also follow @AnIleachStory on Twitter. Alice has listed several contact options:

anileachstory@gmail.com is our project email, you can also message us on facebook, tweet us @anileachstory, or give us a bell on 01496850026

While the project is in English she is also interested in Gaelic stories and definitely wants to get some Gaelic speakers involved. If you have any friends, neighbours or family who are not online but might be able please let them know as well and help them to get in touch with Alice.

Sharing and discussing. Opening up the discussion. Have your say:
