Friday Islay picture #329 - Bright Rhuvaal lighthouse

Friday Islay Picture in stencil

Yesterday morning I posted the 1,000th picture since the relaunch of the Islay Pictures photoblog, which was Walking into Saligo Bay. No milestone like that for this week's Friday Islay picture, as 329 isn't a number normally celebrated or being recognised as a milestone. Nevertheless I hope you'll like the picture I picked for tonight:

Picture of a lighthouse under the bright midday sun

In case you don't recognise it, this is Rhuvaal lighthouse in the far north of Islay. This is looking up from just below the lighthouse on a bright June afternoon last year. My sister and I had walked up from Bunnahabhain and passed below the lighthouse on our way to Bàgh an Dà Dhoruis.

It's an impressive sight with the tall lighthouse under the bright sun high in the sky. Not far from here we found a nice antler, which I believe is now on ‘display’ in my sister's flat in Germany. A fantastic walk I can only recommend, well worth the effort.

That's all I have for tonight, as usual I'll post a larger version of the picture on the photoblog on Saturday morning. Good night and have a great weekend!

Sharing and discussing. Opening up the discussion. Have your say:
