Firewalking (and more) on Islay

Islay Events written in stencil

In two weeks, on Saturday the 3rd of October 2015 to be precise, a big event is going to take place in Bowmore on Islay. Starting at 13:00 on Saturday and ending at 01:00 in the morning on Sunday there should be something for everyone, although the big attraction I should think will be the Fire Walk at 18:30 in the evening:

The event is a joint effort by the Mactaggart Leisure Centre on Islay and the Multiple Sclerosis Centre Argyll in Lochgilphead. The event is a fundraising day for the charities and a number of people have already signed up for sponsored fire walks (you can find some on the Mactaggart Leisure Centre Facebook page as well as on the Multiple Sclerosis Centre Argyll Facebook page). There will be more out there, I'm sure you can also sponsor a walker on the day.

Fingers crossed the weather will be good on the big day, I'm sure it will look great in Bowmore Square. All the best for all the Fire Walkers as well!

Opening up the discussion. Have your say:
