Oraurélie Visits Islay
My French is a bit rusty, but still better than my Hungarian. In May 2006 Oraurélie from France visited Scotland (Ecosse) and among other places she also visited Islay. Here's her impression of Port Charlotte and the Port Charlotte Hotel:
Nous arrivons à Port Charlotte en fin d'aprés-midi. Ce petit village charmant est un des plus agréable de l'île. Notre AJ, face à la mer, est installée dans un ancien entrepôt de whiskey (la cuisine est grande et l'ambiance sympa). L'hôtel du coin fait office de bar restaurant et propose une sélection de whiskey d'Islay impressionante (la carte fait deux pages A4). Nous en essayons quelques uns avant d'aller dormir (Bruichladdich et Bunnahabain), épuisés.
