Have Your Say: IslayBlog.com Now With Comments
Some people say a blog isn't really a blog without comments. While I don't fully subscribe to that view I still felt that something was missing on IslayBlog.com. I know that there are people out there reading this blog about Islay, Jura and occasionally Colonsay, but I don't really give them an opportunity to say something themselves. So today I decided to take the plunge:
I've now registered with an external service and added a comment facility to the most recent posts. At the bottom of each post you will now find a link to the comments, clicking on it should open a little pop up window. It will show any existing comments (if any) and give you the possibility to add yours.
A few ‘rules’ or better requests:
- I would appreciate if you use your real name. You don't have to use your real name, but I'd prefer if you do. I don't really like to communicate with pseudonyms and ‘funny‘ nicknames. You don't have to use your full name, first name is fine (unless there are 15 Johns or Janes commenting, then you might want to consider making yourself unique somehow...)
- Only real working e-mail addresses please. If you don't want to show your e-mail just leave the field blank. But please don't add bogus e-mail addresses, especially as they might actually be somebody elses.
- Please remain civilised. I reserve the right to delete and/ or edit comments which might be insulting to me or any other readers.
- Blatant advertising will be deleted. What that is remains my decision. But if your comment has nothing or not much to do with the relevant entry, then quite likely it will make it to the top of the ‘to delete’ list.
- If possible please stay on topic. Thread drifts happen and I don't have a problem with that, but I'd like the comments to be about the respective entry as much as possible. If you just want to contact me or let me know of something please send me an e-mail.
But enough of all that, now it's over to you. Say what you think about the entries, the topics I'm bringing up. Add your wisdom and knowledge. And make it an open discussion. I hope to read from you soon.
