Friday Islay Picture (51)

There we are, it's Friday evening. Time for the Friday Islay picture. As threatened yesterday it's a picture of Laphroaig distillery on Islay's south coast. Coast being the key word, as it is a view of the distillery from the ferry. I had a bit of help from my sister on this one, as we took the picture using her big lens on the journey to Islay in June last year.

Unfortunately it was a bit cloudy that evening, but I still quite like the view. I'm not sure which hill that is in the background. It looks quite close, but I think the ‘compression’ from the big telephoto lens distorts the view. There must be quite nice views from that rocky outcrop over the south coast of Islay. Something to investigate during one of my next visits. I'll probably won't find the time in April during the walking week, but may be later in the year.

Now it's time to wish you a great weekend, whereever you are and whatever your plans are. The weather forecast for the south of England is quite wet for this weekend, so I'm hoping to make good progress with the Two weeks on Islay in June 2007 travelogue. Not to forget spending more time with my mother on the phone (or on Skype in our case), as she is now back home. Good night for now.
