4 Islay Accommodation Links

During my regular travels through the big interweb I occasionally find a few new Islay websites. Sometimes I receive an e-mail with someone alerting me to their Islay website. Looking through some of my bookmarks this evening I picked out four of them which I'll present to you this evening. The all concern accommodation on Islay, for simplicity in alphabetical order:

Ayen Cottage is a small family run B&B near Ballygrant in the north east of Islay. With only two rooms you should be able to find excellent personal service, reviews I've seen were very positive.

Burnside Lodge in Port Wemyss at the tip of the Rinns of Islay is another B&B, also offering nature tours and shooting trips. From its windows you look directly over to the Rinns of Islay lighthouse on Orsay, certainly an exciting view.

Lagavulin Hall in not surprisingly Lagavulin on the south east coast of Islay is a self-catering holiday house for up to six people. It is a converted church, which certainly provides some interesting accommodation. Found via Fotoblog: Lagavulin Hall (see also Lagavulin Hall on Flickr).

Lagmore House in Portnahaven at the tip of the Rinns of Islay is a large self catering house for up to 8 people. It also has excellent views of the Rinns of Islay lighthouse on Orsay, in particular from the conservatory. For a good impression of its location you might want to try this Quicktime VR panorama of Portnahaven on the Rinns of Islay. Lagmore House is the building on the far left at the end of Queen Street.

That's the four Islay accommodation websites (+ one bonus page about the Lagavulin Hall conversion) for today, more some other time. Good night.
