Laphroaig Islay Malt Masterclass

Screenshot of a part of the invitation to a Laphroaig masterclass

One and a half months ago I had an entry Laphroaig Islay Single Malt Whisky x 3. One of the three topics mentioned was only of interest to my UK readers, the Laphroaig Masterclass. When I arrived home this evening there was a very nice e-mail waiting for me, from the picture you can probably already guess what it was about:

Slàinthe! You're a winner in the LAPHROAIG® Masterclass prize draw

was the first sentence. That's a good start, isn't it? Turns out I've won a pair of tickets to the Laphroaig Masterclass at The Institute of Directors in London's famous Pall Mall. I'm not really keen on London as such (I rather prefer Islay ;-)) but for an event like this I very happily make an exception.

So I will take the train to London in November for an evening with Robert Hicks, the Laphroaig Master Blender. From what I understand we're going to get an overview of the production process and how it influences the taste. Then it's on to the tastings, a journey through the different Laphroaig expressions as well as some rarities.

Now there's only one problem to solve: As I've got a pair of tickets, who am I going to invite to join me?
