The Islay Hotel is getting a Roof
When I last wrote about the Islay Hotel in Port Ellen work on the roof had commenced but was far from completion. The rafters had been completed, but work on the roof covering had only just started. Since then quite a bit of progress has been made as this picture I was sent from Islay last weekend shows:
With only the slates missing you can really get a good impression of how the final building will look. While slightly lower than the original hotel I think it fits quite nicely into the space and the surrounding area.
The slates are scheduled to arrive on Tuesday, so hopefully there will be some good weather for a while to put them up.
