Friday Islay Picture #91 - Crossing The Burn

Friday Islay Picture in stencil

The weekend has arrived. It looks like a calm but cold weekend for where I live, but following the Islay tweets today it looks a bit different on Islay today. Quite windy, very windy, things flying away last night, coming from the west this morning. So I decided to pick a slightly topical picture for this week's Friday Islay picture:

Picture of 3 walkers crossing a wide burn on a windy day

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe this is Eallabus Burn near Islay House on Islay Estate. Alternatively it could also be Carrabus Burn. I can't remember the exact route, but it was during the rather windy Islay House and Bridgend walk of the Islay Walking Week 2004.

Keeping in mind the rather rotten weather on Islay I'm also going to present you with a ‘bonus video’ today:

DirectM.V.IsleOfArran

I'm fairly sure this is Elliott's of Islay Sea Shipping new YouTube video channel, islayshipping. That first video certainly makes me look forward to further videos, quite dramatic!

With that I wish you a great weekend, hopefully not too wild, wet and windy! While writing this entry I was supported by a wee dram of Bruichladdich Octomore whisky and the voice of Donald M MacLeod singing on An T-Eilean Mor.
