Islay Street, Otago, New Zealand

Again and again the name Islay pops up all over the world, with all kinds of things and places named after it. Today I'm going to take you to New Zealand (again), courtesy of Kirsten. From 2006 to 2008 she travelled around Australia and New Zealand (after having lived on Jura for a while I believe). During that time she found the street and the Islay Street road sign. Doing a bit of research I found out that you can actually ‘drive’ Islay Street with Google Streetview:

Some of the other roads you cross (Argyle Street, Oban Street) indicate it is definitely named after the Isle of Islay. The area looks quite nice, quite wide and open with some majestic mountains on the horizon.

Not content with finding an Islay Street she also looked for a Jura Street. And managed to find one.
