Friday Islay Picture #134 - Horse at Sunset

Friday Islay Picture in stencil

Enough snow, frost and ice! After asking How did Islay get away without snow? yesterday I've just posted a few pictures of Snowmen and Icicles on my other blogs. But with that I think I need to see something different, I'm getting a bit bored with snow now. So how about a horse at sunset for this week's Friday Islay picture?

I took this picture on the last evening of my last Islay visit in October 2009. A very nice sunset at Machir Bay, seen from the dunes near the war cemetery. There were quite a few horses in the field, this one was watching me as I was approaching, almost posing for me. It was a very nice sunset, not sure if the horses cared much or even have a sense for it.

Selecting this picture, preparing it, writing about it and posting it was supported by a wee dram of Laphroaig Triple Wood, some ‘Fleur-de-sel’ chocolate from Gmeiner Confiserie and the Teenage Fanclub's Howdy. As usual I'll post a larger version (larger as in more than twice as big) of this picture on the Islay Pictures photoblog, tomorrow morning, i.e. Saturday morning. With that I wish you a great weekend, with or without snow!
