Good Luck Islay High FilmG Team!

Islay on Video written in stencil

Nearly there. It was back in December when I first wrote about the Islay High School FilmG entry, two months later the big day of the FilmG Awards has almost arrived. This evening Andy Wallis and the An Tùr (The Tower) FilmG entry team are on their way to Inverness (via Sabhal Mor Ostaig on Skye). Attentive readers might remember that their entry has been nominated in the Best Production Shortlist category. Fingers crossed and good luck to the team for the big event on Friday evening!

In his entry FilmG Shortlisting Success Andy writes a bit more about the planned road trip and hints of a possible road movie from it. So I thought I set an (easy) challenge for Andy and his students: Can you make a more exciting road movie than the probably most boring Islay road movie ever?

I will try to provide an update about the results, both in the ‘Best Production Young People’ as well as the ‘People's Choice’ awards. Should the potential road movie materialise and be publicly available I will of course also mention it on this blog. But until then all that remains is to say to the group:

Have a great road trip, an even better unforgettable experience on Friday evening and of course good luck for the awards!
