Friday Islay Picture #194 - Lifeboat and Ferry

Friday Islay Picture in stencil

Sorry I'm late. Got sidetracked by all kinds of things, shopping, reading stuff on the internet, YouTube, nice music on BBC 6 Music, you name it, suddenly it was gone 11:00. PM. Not AM. But of course I can't leave you without the Friday Islay picture, so here we go, a picture of the Islay lifeboat and the Islay ferry in Port Askaig:

Picture of an RNLI lifeboat and a Calmac ferry in a sound

This picture is from April 2011, the Calmac ferry ‘Hebridean Isles’ passing the RNLI lifeboat ‘RNLB Helmut Schroder of Dunlossit II’. Unfortunately a cloud moved in front of the sun just as the ferry was passing the lifeboat, so the picture is slightly darker than I would have liked. The orange deckhouse of the lifeboat looked quite nice in the bright sunshine. I'll try again some other time.

As usual I'll post a larger version (larger as in more than twice as big) on the Islay Pictures photoblog on Saturday morning. Until then, good night and have a great weekend!
