Islay Blogging Roundup #222

Islay Blogging Roundup in stencil

That's a busy weekend coming to an end now. Had to go into town (Reading) yesterday for some errands, unfortunately only partially successful. Coming back I noticed it had been a busy afternoon over Aldermaston Wharf. Today was baking day again, this time I made some Walnut and Linseed Three Flour Bread. Turned out very nice. And now it's time for another Islay blogging roundup, this one with the nice number 222:

This weekend saw the Islay Book Festival, I hope to see a few posts about it over the coming days, for now a preview from Joan Lennon: Islay Book Festival 7-9 Sept. 2012.

David says I’ve Died and Gone to Whisky Heaven – Islay, Scotland, that's after A Morning in Glasgow and a Drive to Islay. Ewan Henderson of the Business Bug also went on an Islay & Jura Whisky tour. Buddymollys went on an Escape to Whisky Island.

Ardbeg's latest offering is introduced around the world, from Germany we find Ardbeg Galileo @ Bar Gabànyi. The Edinburgh Whisky Blog uses some strong language and asks Port Ellen – Are they taking the piss? The Whisky Nuts taste the Sound of Islay.

On the Scotland 2012 blog by a few American visitors we find On to Islay, Bowmore, and More, Ardbeg! and Last Day on Islay.

The Retro Chick visits Islay's neighbour Jura for some Whisky In The Wilds of Scotland. From Colonsay we have an Update on the Beast…

Sally (not her real name), says DON'T GO TO ISLAY IN NOVEMBER ! Justin Tyers tells us a story of the Blind helping the blind while Neil Gordon-Orr writes about the Kilchiaran Cup Stone. The Islay and Jura Timebank announces their next day out to the Museum of Islay Life.

Some might see it as good news, others as bad news, Ron writes Alex Salmond Says No to Ferry Routes Split up. He also picks up on the stupid story of Sharks off Islay's Coast which went through the news recently.

Birdwatching: The North East Birder looks back at his time on Glorious Islay. The Swedish visitor I mentioned last week continues with 120702 Skottland-Scotland , day 9 Monday, Islay and 120703 Skottland-Scotland , day 10 Tuesday, Islay. The Islay Birds blog brings us news of good weather and various sightings by Bob. Then there were George's sightings before the mist/haar returned. On the Islay Natural History Trust blog we find Three moths, an update from the Nature Ramble at Ardnave - 3rd September 2012 and are informed there's Lots of hatching to come.

For the pictures Mark Unsworth brings us Sileage Cut on his photography gallery while his Image of the week is from a bonded warehouse. On the INHT blog we find some pictures of Port Ellen by George Robertson as well as a Red Deer by George Robertson. From my own Islay Pictures photoblog I think I'll go for Approaching Soldier's Rock, Soldier's Rock in the Afternoon Sun and Soldier's Rock and the Paps of Jura, Isle of Islay from this week's (you probably guessed it) Soldier's Rock theme.

And that's it for this week. Before I close as usual the link to the Scottish Roundup for the bigger picture, this week with Outrage and woodlice. Good night!

Sharing and discussing. Opening up the discussion. Have your say:
