Islay Blogging Roundup #294

Islay Blogging Roundup in stencil

The first weekend where at least in West Berkshire it really felt like summer is now just around the corner. Think we reached the low 20s (Centigrade) today. In other news I've added commenting capabilities to both Armin's Tumblr and IslayBlog on Tumblr this morning, so now you can have your say there as well if you're so inclined. But now over to the Islay mentions in the blogs this week:

Starting with the Islay whisky posts again, the Pour Fool writes about Laphroaig, Remembrance, and The Heart of a Mountain Girl and a German blog writes about an Islay Living Cask NAS "vom Fass" (46% Vol.). Changing language again from Sweden Fredde tastes the Kilchoman Loch Gorm Batch 2, 46%. Not done yet, for the fourth language we go to Norway for Octomore Futures 2002-2008 46 %. The Northern Walker has the Bowmore Small Batch Reserve – now for something a bit different.

Then the visitors, Katie has three posts, they are Isle of Islay, Scotland: Tarbet, Gleneagedale & the World's Best Breakfast, Isle of Islay, Scotland: Laphroaig & Lagavulin Distillery Tours and Isle of Islay, Scotland: Rockside Pony Beach Trek. A windsurfer went to Islay for some action in Laggan Bay (you might have to click "Read more" to see the pictures).

Becky announced her Islay Welly Walks Weekly Walks! while Ron highlighted a Fascinating Islay History Booklet now Online. On Port Ellen Primary's Our Learning Blog we can read about Golf At The Machire and learn some Facts of Scotland. Not to forget The World Of Money. The Dower House crew wonders Where has the time gone?

On to the birdwatching and wildlife: It just missed last weekend's roundup, but Gordon Yates shared Otterly Fantastic now. The Islay Birds blog brings us birds of prey spotted by Andy and Jane, weatherproof birders and sightings by the Bowland birders. On the RSPB Islay blog we find an impressive Golden Eagle At last. There were also One moth and two flowers and Bloomin cuckoos.

As usual to close the pictures, starting with Greg Funnell's Port Ellen, Islay, Scotland. Ron shared Portnahaven, Loch Ardnahoe and evening light on the Oa. James Collett shares some Islay birds in Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Nature Animals. From my own Islay Pictures photoblog I've picked the Sunny beach in Machir Bay, the Cliffs north of Lossit Bay and the Waves and Oystercatchers in Loch Indaal, Isle of Islay.

That's all. Good night!

Sharing and discussing. Opening up the discussion. Have your say:
