Islay Sounds on Radio Alert

From BBC Radio Scotland to BBC Radio 4. After George Robertson talking about the Otranto and Tuscania disasters on Islay two weeks ago it will be the sounds of Islay next week. No, not the Sound of Islay, the sounds of Islay:

21:00 The Sounds of Britain: Islay
Writer and naturalist Paul Evans and wildlife sound recordist Chris Watson capture the atmosphere and spirit of the Hebridean island of Islay, famous for its whisky and wildlife. They encounter chattering choughs on the sand dunes, drumming snipe, corncrake, curlew, lapwing, and barn owls, and find the time to visit to a Victorian distillery.

I believe it should be possible to listen to the programme online whereever you are, just use the ‘Listen Live’ link on the BBC Radio 4 website. The programme will run on Monday, 17/Sep/2007 at 21:00 BST as part of the Science | Nature programmes.

Before I forget, the Victorian distillery is Bruichladdich, where the BBC recorded earlier in the summer.
