Jura Fell Race Video
Haven't been on an excursion from Islay for a while now I think, time for another visit to Islay's nearest neighbour, the Isle of Jura. I've mentioned the Jura Fell Race before, more than once actually. Recently I've discovered a very nice video about the history of the race, available on the website and on YouTube:
Donald Booth talks about the history of the race while runners are passing behind him. A great credit for the people from Jura how they were initially supporting and are now runnning (pun half intended) the race. But I think the real key point is the anecdote he tells at the end of the video, really showing how much it is an event more than just a race.
While I have no intention of ever running it I hope I will have the opportunity to one day experience it, be it as a spectator, be it as a helper.
