Islay in Two Long Articles

Islay is fairly regularly featured in a variety of big magazines. Usually the topic is whisky, on occasion also the birds get a mention. One example I can think of is Islay Whisky in the American Men's Vogue (admittedly because I had some personal involvement). Recently I became aware of two more articles about Islay (and Jura):

First let's go to India: Sandeep Arora writes in India Today about The Islay trail. After an overview of Islay's history, the festivals and the food the article turns to the famous Islay whisky. From a general view of the whisky the focus is on individual distilleries, in particular Laphroaig, Lagavulin, Ardbeg, Bowmore, Bunnahabhain, Bruichladdich and Caol Ila. Only Kilchoman doesn't get a mention yet, I suspect because their whisky isn't available yet.

From India over to the United States, to the National Geographic. The for argyll website recently mentioned Islay would feature in the March issue, although didn't offer a link to the actual article. So I did a quick search today and this is what I found: The article is called Feature: Will Paddle for Whisky and is complemented by a Scotland Adventure Guide. Andrew Todhunter writes about his kayaking trip from Crinan, down the west coast of Jura and around Islay, in particular the distilleries.

I'm guessing the print edition will have many more pictures than what's available online, so I'll have a look for it when I go shopping this weekend (assuming the UK edition is the same).
