David McSporran's Paps of Jura Pictures

Jura Excursions written in stencil

Just a few days ago James Deane posted his pictures from Climbing Beinn an Òir in winter. Over the last few weeks I've posted panoramas from the summits of Beinn an Oir and Beinn Shiantaidh. This in turn made me think about all the other pictures which must be out there, so I started to look around. Among the first ones I came across was a flickr set from David McSporran:

Judging from the various sets in his account David seems to be out on the hills quite a lot. Of interest for us is the 05-02 The Paps of Jura set from May 2010. He took the passenger ferry from Tayvallich, pitched his tent at the hotel and then set off for his walk.

I recommend you work your way through all the pictures, but here are some of my favourites: Beinn Shiantaidh from the Beinn an Oir ridge, because it looks wild and rugged. All three Paps in one, just because. Beinn Shiantaidh behind the boathouse, because I like the boathouse. Sunrise over the Sound of Jura, nice colours. Something the Isle of Jura distillery team will enjoy: A fitting way to celebrate (Finished!).

And as a bonus there's a Beinn a' Chaolais Summit Video.
