Islay Sessions in Three Weeks
I'm quite disappointed that I will have to miss it (due to lack of holidays and funds for fourth Islay trip in a year), as I'm certain those who will go will have a fabulous time. Many will have listened to live traditional music at the Port Charlotte Hotel, now Grahame Allison, the owner of the Port Charlotte Hotel has organised a new music event for mid November:
The event is called The Islay Sessions and will take place from the 11th to the 13th of November in various venues on Islay including Bruichladdich Hall and the Port Charlotte Hotel. Some great musicians will be there: Regular readers will remember the old IslayBlog.com favourites the Maverick Angels with their latest CD Nø Hålo. The other musicians (unfortunately I don't know much about them) are Anarkali, Darren MacLean, Eilidh Shaw and Lori Watson. For a taster here is Nell by Lori Watson and The Rule of Three:
