Islay Visit with the RIB Port Na Haven

Islay on Video written in stencil

Probably a few weeks ago (I can't remember exactly) I came across the video of the Maiden Voyage of the RIB Port Na Haven. While the name creates thoughts of Islay there was no direct connection to the Isle of Islay in the video, so I didn't mention it. Now I have a perfect reason to mention it after all, as the same boat recently crossed the North Channel for a visit to Islay:

Some wonderful views of Islay from the sea, in particular of the cliffs of The Oa. But also some nice views of Port Ellen including the ongoing pier reconstruction. Looks like they were very lucky with the weather, in particular on Islay, with mostly blue sky until they hit some fog on their return to Rathlin. Hopefully there will a video of the RIB Port Na Haven visiting the village of Portnahaven in beautiful sunshine one day …
