Islay Pipe Band at Cowal 2012

Islay Music in stencil

While the original plan for this evening had been to tell you about some great pictures of a project currently under way on Islay I'm afraid they will have to wait for a few days (Sorry, Phil) as something else just popped up I feel obliged to share as quick as possible. Not long back from their performance at the Worlds in Glasgow the Islay Pipe Band finished strongly at their last competition of the season at the Cowal Championships. Before we get to the results, here's the video of their medley:

In regards to the results, they came an excellent second of 11 bands in Grade 3A (regular readers will know the trick, scroll down to Grade 3A). While according to their news page they were disappointed with the results from the Worlds they have again finished the season in top form and I think this season can be counted as a successful one.

Same as last year they finished 3rd in the Champion of Champions Table. To review the season's results, check out the Isle of Islay Pipe Band results on the RSPBA page.

Fingers crossed already for next season!
