Islay Blogging Roundup #282
That's a busy weekend coming to an end now: Earlier this evening I finished the first two sections of the first MOOC I'm participating in, Model Thinking. Very interesting so far. Earlier today I finished and uploaded my latest Islay from the air video, Bruichladdich, Islay, with a DJI Phantom Quadcopter, more about that tomorrow. Yesterday I took the train into Reading to run a few errands, not my favourite pastime, but had to be done. Quite a lot of flooding around to see from the train. But enough of that, we're really here for the Islay blogging roundup, the Islay mentions in the blogs this week:
Let me start with the Islay single malts: drikkelig.no has Bruichladdich The Organic 46 % while the Vienna Bar Community shares Secrets of Islay – die Geheimnisse von Islay. Onversneden tastest the Bunnahabhain 26y 1987, The Nectar of the Daily Drams. Jake from California states The Lagavulin Has Been Opened. The Whiskey Jug has a Kilchoman Machir Bay Review.
Some great news from the Dower House crew, The Scaffolding's Down! Amongst Other Things.. Now they're Riding High and Stepping Forward!
Freekee Thoughts writes about Kilchoman Church and leaving Islay.
On to the birdwatching and wildlife: Ed gives us some background on his project in Bum deal? On the Islay Birds blog we read about Starlings mimicking other birds, sightings by the Lochwinnock birders and sightings by the Sevenoak birders. On the INHT blog we find Geese and my dog (my being Malcolm) and John Armitage is pleased with And finally........good weather.. The RSPB blog shares 5 reasons to visit The Oa reserve this year… and Amy tells us what to look for If you go down to the woods today…. Philippa writes about My first Exhibition and has the Contributions all sewn up.
To close as usual the pictures: Tim Collier brings us Islay Geese : Black And White. Ron shares a wide-angle view of Bowmore and a sunny spring day in Port Ellen. From my own Islay Pictures photoblog I've picked Mala Bholsa from Killinallan Point, Dunyvaig Castle in 1999 and Clear night sky over Islay.
And that is all for this week. Good night.
